A True Family Business – Now in Its Second Generation

Forry’s Country Store is proudly run by the second generation of the Forry family. Four of the Forry children work full-time in the store, alongside a dedicated team that treats every customer like a neighbor. Our hands-on, family-first approach means we know our customers by name, understand their needs, and consistently deliver personal service.

Our Story Begins with Eggs and Community Roots

Forry’s Country Store has a proud and humble origin rooted right here in Lancaster County. Our story began in 1971 when Elmer Forry and Ada Conley were married and started Silver Spring Egg Farm at 820 Ivy Drive. With 14,000 laying hens and a commitment to hard work, the Forrys built a strong foundation for what would become a beloved community grocery store.


By 1981, after weathering the avian flu and the closure of the egg farm, the family adapted and shifted their focus. In 1986, Silver Spring Storage was opened. Then, on February 4, 1993, Forry’s Country Store welcomed its first customers, offering bulk foods and deli items to the community. That same legacy of adaptability, family commitment, and community focus continues today.
